Reliance wins contract to work in partnership with Northumbria Police to provide forensic examination services at REACH centres

Reliance has won a four year contract to work in partnership with Northumbria Police to provide sexual offence forensic examination services at Rape Examination Advice Counselling and Help (REACH) Centres within the Northumbria police area.

A number of forensic nurse examiners have joined an already experienced Reliance medical team to train to carry out these examinations. These senior nurses will not only contribute to the criminal justice process   but also to awareness and prevention strategies in relation to sexual violence in the area.

Reliance will work as an integrated part of the wider Northumbria Police and criminal justice team and will support public protection and implementation of national and local strategies in a concerted attempt to reduce the incidence of sexual violence.

This win adds further to Reliance’s presence in the Forensic Medical Examination (FME) and REACH / SARC sector, following on from the successful start on the 1st September of our contract for FME services to Avon & Somerset Police won in July.
